This collaboration will enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of COUNTER reporting for Gale’s library and institutional customers worldwide through an upgrade to the COUNTER 5.1 standard, with 5.1 usage reports back to January  2023.

• Updated Data Harvesting: The new JSON schema for R5.1 uses OpenAPI3.1 and is more compact than the old schema, so the files are easier to produce, validate, and use. This means changes like avoiding duplicate item and parent metadata, simplifying the performance structure, and simplifying value lists.
• Deeper Data Analytics: Powerful, flexible and granular data analytics will provide greater, valued insights for the Gale business with data driven evidence for innovative business change and user engagement.
